It is important to regularly backup to your database to avoid data loss in case of a system crash or other unwanted events.

To do this please do the following steps:

1. Quit CRM+. Never make a backup while CRM+ is open or else you are likely to create a corrupted backup.
2. Open My Computer, and navigate to your install location. (usually C:\Program Files\CRM+ x.x.x (where x.x.x is the current version).
3. You can see many files there. Look for CRM.USR. There are two files named CRM, but each one have a different extension. If you don't see the extensions try hovering over the file for windows to show the complete file name.
4. Right click on the file, and choose Copy from the popup menu.
5. Navigate to an other location where you wish to save the file (for example on your main drive create a folder called CRM backup, and create a new folder in it based on the current date (eg: Backup 091020). If you are in that folder, right click, and choose paste. CRM.USR will appear in some seconds.
6. (Optional). You can also ZIP this file. Right click on it, and choose Send - archive.

5. Navigate to an other location where you wish to save the file (for example on your main drive create a folder called CRM backup, and create a new folder in it based on the current date (eg: Backup 091020). If you are in that folder, right click, and choose paste. CRM.USR will appear in some seconds.
6. (Optional). You can also ZIP this file. Right click on it, and choose Compress.

1. Quit CRM+. Never restore a backup while CRM+ is open!
2. Navigate to your backup directory, and locate for the backup file you created using the backup steps.
3. If you archived it, please unarchive it first
4. Right click on the file, choose copy.
5. Navigate to the CRM+ install location, and open that folder.
6. Right click, and press paste.
7. Overwrite the existing file.
